Monday again. Today was a good day. I haven't been able to say that for a while. I was awake until about 2:30 am before I finally fell asleep. So many things going on in my head, and I guess I'm just not active enough to be tired.
I feel like I may have finally turned the corner, for real this time. Two days of not much exercise, mostly just working on extension while I'm sitting. I went to PT today, driving my truck, myself. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and I just needed to get out, alone. It took almost the whole 10 minute warm up time to get the bike pedals to go all the way around, but it worked. Cassie measured my extension and bending right away. I don't remember the numbers for sure, something like 96 and 12 maybe? We got right to work, focused first on extension, another measurement, and then exercises to build up muscle, before measuring the bending. I think at the end of the session we ended around 115 and 3. Pretty outstanding for me.
I did squats down to the table, the best ever. Then some step up and overs on some unstable platforms. Standing individual leg balance on the foam, and then the total gym. A massage was next, and finished with some stim. This is a little different than usual. She sets the electrodes to fire my quad muscles, and then I straighten my leg when the stim comes on. On for 30 seconds, and off for 30 I think. First with my legs hanging from a sitting position, then lying on my back, trying to straighten my leg off the table. It's not very nice, but it seems to be working. I wasn't in tears when I left today, and I actually went to the gun store to look around a little before I went home.
Annabelle came over this morning, so I got to spend some time with her while I had some ice and stim going on my knee. After she left, Emerson and I went to the grocery store, and by the time we were halfway through, the pain was coming on fast. So, some good progress, and not the worst recovery time for sure. Praise God for his mercy on me today.
