Monday, what a day. It got up to 48 today, and then this afternoon the wind started to blow, and the temperature crashed. I think we're officially into winter now. It was good to be off PT for the weekend, when I went in today, I was hurting. It turns out that even with new knees, I still get the aches and pains when the weather changes.
There wasn't much of a crowd at the clinic today, which was nice. Riding the bike for a warm up, 10 minutes turning the pedals back and forth, trying to get them to go around. Then the blue shoe/ calf stretch. Massage is next, trying to get the knee cap to move, and to loosen up all the muscles so I can bend. I guess all your muscle groups are surrounded by individual membranes, so they can move independently, and the scar tissue and swelling from the surgery gets in the way. She was trying to show me what I can do at home while I'm sitting, to help.
The incision still looks really good, and the whole thing is closed up. She told me to try the heating pad, or even a hot bath to get loosened up, and then exercise. Ice right after the activity, making sure to keep it elevated as much as possible. At the end, I met a new massage therapist, and she worked on the scar/ incision. Whatever she did, seemed to really help. I hope she's back tomorrow. When I left today, I wasn't in as much pain as last week, and after ice and rest this afternoon I feel pretty good. I just told Londynn this is the best I've felt since the surgery. Maybe I finally turned the corner.
I made dinner tonight, and Reaghann is getting ready to take everyone out to look at Christmas lights. I don't think I can ride in the car for so long yet, maybe next week. Here's hoping for a good nights sleep tonight. PT isn't until 3pm tomorrow, so exercise at home tomorrow morning.
